So that means which means you'll end up getting far more gems out of them, and a larger percentage of them will be the type you want, which if you're bothering to mine gem rocks was probably the goal. Prif rocks do give every gem, but there are other rocks that give certain specific gems, and they all take far less time to mine than those in Prif. (Unless you want the chance of an onyx - which if you don't use hydrix stuff, you shouldn't need more than 2 of, and if you do use hydrix stuff, you can probably do Kiln and that's still faster afaik.) For dstone+, sure since igneous only give dstones at 2%, and onyxes not at all.īut otherwise, while you probably get igneouses in more time on average than it takes to mine a gem rock, you'll end up with so many from mining anyway (not to mention that afaik monsters still drop them just like they used to, so from slayer too) that you shouldn't need to mine gem rocks for anything but an onyx.Įven if you do need gems in incredibly large quantities for some reason, you shouldn't be mining Prif gem rocks for that either. Those who might not be smart enough to just buy it on poe.trade. And it would benefit the new player likely more than most. So, for 1c you can get your gem up to level 40, or for 150 chaos you can get it to level 19 (or 57c to move from level 18 to 19.) Īll of this sounds perfectly fair and balanced, as long as the gem is limited and priced appropriately. What's a level 19 gem take xp wise? 150 million xp. So, lets say that this gem grants 500,000 xp for around half a chaos. Wiki says that level 10 flameblast, requires level 40, and is around 1 million xp. This would be practical for this use if the orb is value around the level of an alchemy. Good luck.īut with this currency, you could perhaps just use one or two of them, and you've now got something you can actually use. So you find one and equip it as a level 1 gem. Lets say you make it to level 45 as a new player, and you decide you should try this flameblast thing. So, then, who might this really benefit? Perhaps the lower level player wanting to switch gems. So if this gem gave a flat amount of experience, you might be using many, many, many gems to go from 19 to 20. Higher levels require substantially more xp to level.
